Rules of conduct in the Hockey Echo. HOCKEY.RUL, 3-Jan-93
Moderator: Peter Zurich (1:2604/201)
The North American Hockey Echo is a place where all aspects of Ice
Hockey in North America (and the world) can be maturely discussed.
Topics to include (but not be limited to) NHL, AHL, IHL, WHL, OHL,
college, other major world leagues, and the Olymipic games; rule
changes, trades, injuries and little-known trivia.
1. No flames, profanity, or violations of FidoNet rules (this means
"My team is better then your team 'cause they're my team" type
messages will not be allowed--SUBSTANTIATE WITH FACTS).
2. Stay "On-Topic"; move off-topics to other echos or netmail.
3. Game stats and NON-NHL standings may be posted at will. Since the
NHL gets acceptable standings coverage, such things are not needed,
but, AHL, OHL, (etc) standings are welcome.
4. Hockey pools (including swapping of teams, player lists, etc.) may
be run through the echo provided the pools do not involve gambling.
Other pools MAY NOT be conducted in the Hockey echo.
5. Gating of the HOCKEY echo to new zones and/or networks must be
pre-approved by the Mod and must provide proof that Inter-Network
standards will not be violated. This echo is by request ONLY as
to maintain a level of maturity so that intelligent discussions
about hockey may take place. Additionally, the moderator has the
right to terminate the inter-network gating as he sees fit.
6. Users/Nodes violating the Echo Rules will be given three notices.
1st - Public via the HOCKEY echo;
2nd - Private via netmail, carbon-copy (cc) to the SysOp;
3rd - Private via netmail, cc to SysOp and to the HEC/NEC/REC/ZEC
Failure to comply after three requests may result in user and/or
node banishment from the HOCKEY echo.
7. Notify the Mod via netmail if you feel a user has broken the rules.
Questions regarding the rules may also be asked in netmail.
8. All rules are subject to Mod review and changed at anytime.
